After she was diagnosed with cervical cancer, Jo Wallace found there was a lack of support for children aged under twelve around the topic. She offered to come and speak to her son’s class at school and enlisted the help of her oncologist, Dr Trevor Tejada-Berges. The response from Charlie’s classmates and the school was to organise a community fundraising event as a show of support for the Wallaces – the Breakfast of Champions.
