Alison Morgan
Alison is a consumer at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, having recently completed treatment for triple negative breast cancer. Drawing on her lived experience, she’s committed to advocating for patients for whom this excellent and caring centre becomes a second home.
As former professional singer and arts manager, Alison brings a wealth of experience in advocacy, mentoring and leadership to her role on the council. Prior to diagnosis, she embarked on a new career in health management, and is completing post-graduate studies in Medical and Health Leadership at the University of Wollongong. Finding herself on the inside of the health system as a patient has not only strengthened her resolve to pursue a health-based career, but has brought her face to face with the vulnerability, needs and ongoing concerns of patients dealing with cancer.
At a personal level, Alison is passionate about opening conversations around diversity and inclusivity for everyone in the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse community and is particularly keen to stand as an ally with transgender and intersex patients and staff.
