Niamh is a registered nurse with over 9 years of experience in oncology nursing, having worked in both Ireland and Australia. Her career as a nurse has included various rewarding positions within the specialities of oncology, heamatology, clinical trials and nurse education. For over three years, she has been a valued team member at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and works in both the Day Therapy Unit and the LivingRoom. Passionate about holistic health, Niamh is dedicated to enhancing patient well-being through comprehensive supportive care and promoting quality of life. She believes in addressing all aspects of a patient’s health, including physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, to provide patient-centred care.

As a Supportive Care and Integrative Oncology Clinical Nurse Consultant, Niamh develops individualised supportive care plans and educates patients on symptom management and complementary therapies. Niamh advocates for a holistic approach to care in supporting people throughout their cancer treatment and empowers people with cancer in self-management, lifestyle changes and helping them live well both with and beyond their cancer diagnosis.

Outside of her work at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Niamh stays fit and healthy through running and strength training, and takes great joy in sitting down with a good book.
